Just like you can buy insurance at the click of a button or start investing in mutual funds online, you can now open your National Pension System (NPS) account online.
eNPS was launched on a pilot basis in August last year. Now one can use either Aadhaar or PAN and bank account for online registration under eNPS.
However, the process does not stop here. Please note that you have to print the NPS form that was filled online, paste a photograph, sign the form and submit the print out within 90 days to the Central Record Keeping Authority (CRA). Currently NSDL is the CRA. If you do not send the form, then your account will be frozen temporarily.
