Question sent by Nilesh Thakkar:-

I am willing to invest a lumpsum of Rs. 1 lakh for a short term and do an SIP for long term. Please guide me with regards to this.

Also advice me as to which mediclaim is best.

Advice given:

  1. For the short term investment, you could invest in short term liquid funds, which will provide safety, liquidity and fair returns.
  2. For the SIP, you could consider investing in equity mutual funds.
  3. For your mediclaim, you could check out websites like Policy Bazaar where you can compare various plans and then select the one which suits your needs.
  4. Consult your agent. Floater is a good idea. Look at network of hospitals near you.
