Question sent by Vimalbhai Tilva:-
I have an FD of Rs. 60 lakhs which provides an interest of about Rs. 40,000. Can this interest money be invested somewhere? Or should I divide the Rs. 60 lakhs and invest it in different avenues?
I also have 2 properties, one in Junagadh and another in Rajkot. So should I purchase one more property?
Advice given:
- Your FD investment can give you a return of 8% only.
- You already have real estate exposure.
- I am assuming you should consider active wealth creation so my suggestion is to take exposure of market by investing in equities.
- If you are averse to investing in equities and want to make your interest from FD tax free, that is possible to a large extent.
- For the interest you earn – either invest into SIPs or do cumulative option in FD itself.
