Question sent by Vimalbhai Tilva:-

I have an FD of Rs. 60 lakhs which provides an interest of about Rs. 40,000. Can this interest money be invested somewhere? Or should I divide the Rs. 60 lakhs and invest it in different avenues?

I also have 2 properties, one in Junagadh and another in Rajkot. So should I purchase one more property?

Advice given:

  1. Your FD investment can give you a return of 8% only.
  2. You already have real estate exposure.
  3. I am assuming you should consider active wealth creation so my suggestion is to take exposure of market by investing in equities.
  4. If you are averse to investing in equities and want to make your interest from FD tax free, that is possible to a large extent.
  5. For the interest you earn – either invest into SIPs or do cumulative option in FD itself.
