Goal Planning – Mutual Funds

  1. 10 funds is not a very good idea
  2. Go with 3-4 funds; 40% into diversified – 1 fund & 30% each into midcap – 1 fund & 1-2 sectoral funds
  3. Your insurance policies will yield nothing – 4% for jeevananand and 2-3% for saral. It is sunk cost. Suggest that you do not pay post 3 years by which let the policies become paid up
  4. Buy adequate term insurance – say 50 lacs to start with.

I am 36 years old and want `a Corpus of `20 mn in next 5 years … Where & how much should I invest in order to achieve this goal
Goal PlanningIf you consider equities v/s non-equities

  1. Then on lump sum basis you need to invest; 10mn or 14.25mn
  2. On a monthly basis you will need to put every month for next 5 years; 2.5 lacs and go with balanced strategy i.e. 60:40 equities to debt.

Goal Planning

  1. This is not possible. 50k will create 5 lacs or thereabout
  2. You need to invest 2.5 lacs now with full risk and expecting 15% rate of return – more if you want to take lesser risk

Goal Planning – Mutual Fund

  1. If you can do a lumpsum investment then about 5.5 to 6 lacs should be ok to give you 40 lacs
  2. 100% equity investment via diversified funds 40%, 30% each in midcap and sectoral funds
